Spaces - by Maria Mandrussow

Summer time
Makes everything
Better Or does it just
Cover the pain With the weather
And I don't want to change A thing here
From the tethered green shades
To the chipped mirrors

Cuz theres so many memories in this place
Every old feelin' in its space
And I could tare down the walls and build it again
But I don't have the money
And I'd miss the dents

Watching the skies With wandering eyes
On the rooftop We try to sleep
But its slanted and weak And we'd fall off
This roof wasn't made For gazers
But it helped me define
What I'm made of

And theres so many memories in this place
Every old feeling in its space
And I could tare down the walls and build it again
But I don't have the money
And I'd miss the dents

There’s a picture of us
Covered in dust
On the mantle
We're skinny and tan
With more sand in our hands
Than we can handle
And the sun bleached porch
Is sinkin' in
But I've never found the courage
To repaint it-again

Cuz theres so many memories in this place
Every old feeling in its space
And I could tare down the walls and build it again
But I don't have the money
And I'd miss the dents
